Journal Publication January 7, 2013 : A paper co-authored by 2011 REU participant Michelle Sempkowski appears in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics. Michelle worked in the lab of Professor Sofou.

Journal Publication December 8, 2011 : A paper co-authored by 2010 REU participant Kevin Trout appears in the journal Annals of Biomedical Engineering. Kevin worked in the lab of Professor Langrana.

Best Poster Award! November 11, 2011 : Congratulations to Izmarie Poventud-Fuentes, who won a Best Poster award at the recent Annnual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. Izmarie was a 2011 REU participant working with Professors Moghe and Roth.

Applications

Eligibility

• All participants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.
• Preference is given to students who have completed their junior year. Outstanding sophomores and first-years may be considered. Graduating seniors are not eligible.
• Persons from groups traditionally under-represented in science and engineering professions are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Please note: this program is designed to bring external students to Rutgers for the summer. Therefore, Rutgers students are not eligible.

General Instructions

• Download an application form.
• Follow its directions completely.
• The following must ALL be submitted to form a complete application:
  • The completed application form
  • A transcript (unofficial OK)
  • Two letters of recommendation (sent by letter writers)
• All applications and supporting materials must be received by March 15, 2013.
• Review of applications and rolling admissions will commence February 2013
• Early application is encouraged, as the program is highly competitive.
• Students will be notified of their status by email.
